This is a basic troubleshooting guide for NCR Aloha allowing users to fix basic issues in case they occur
- Take note of any errors showing on the FOH or BOH
- Find out how long the issue has been occurring and if there was any event that may have triggered the issue
- Find the Master terminal on the network by going to the login screen on each terminal and observe the ‘Master’ text at the bottom of the screen
- Check the SYSDATE and DOB dates and verify that they are for the current day
- Note if there is a red border around any of the terminals’ login screens, this will indicate that the terminal is in redundancy and a loss of connection on the network likely occurred
- Attempt pinging each terminal from BOH machine
- Check each terminal for sales folders in their respective C:\Bootdrv\Aloha\ directories
- Go to the Aloha Back of House machine, open the Windows Services window and verify that the following services are running. If any below services are not running, attempt to start them.
- Standard Aloha services:
- CtlSvr
- AeMInStoreService
- SQL Server (SQLEXPRESS)
- If using Aloha TakeOut
- Radiant TakeOut and Delivery
- Radiant TakeOut Service Monitor
- If using Aloha Kitchen
- Aloha Kitchen Service
- Standard Aloha services:
- Ensure Aloha USB dongle is plugged into the BOH machine and glowing red
- Manually check DOB on server in C:\Bootdrv\Aloha\DATA\Aloha.ini & C:\Bootdrv\Aloha\NewDATA\Aloha.ini files
